Anyone who has had their driver’s license revoked or suspended, especially in Pittsburgh, PA, knows the depressing and stifling limits to not being able to drive – to school, to work, to pick up groceries even. This loss of freedom can cause you to lose your job, friends, opportunities and most embarrassingly, the trust and respect of your coworkers, friends and family. You may feel like your world is spinning out of control.

At Justin Ketchel Law we put the control back in your hands by helping you understand your rights and working aggressively and diligently to defend your rights. We will do what it takes to help you keep your license, have it reinstated or we will find alternatives (such as the occupational driver’s license).

OUR NUMBER ONE GOAL: TO HAVE YOUR LICENSE REINSTATED.

If you are at-risk of losing your driver’s license over traffic citations and point violations or because of a DUI arrest or if your license has already been suspended by PennDOT, call the law offices of Justin Ketchel Law today for a free consultation.

We are experienced attorneys who understand how to navigate the Pennsylvania legal traffic system and will use every angle to help you retain the freedom of driving. In addition to having your license reinstated, we will push to have points removed from your driving record and your automobile insurance reduced. We may be able to have your charges dropped completely, reduce your fines and have your points removed from your record. Our goal is to get the best possible outcome.

PennDOT Driver’s License Suspension Laws

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) may suspend or revoke a license for any of the following reasons:

  • Driving Under the Influence (DUI)
  • Refusing to take a BAC test
  • Violating the ‘Dead Beat Parent Law’
  • Reckless Driving
  • Traffic Violations
  • Vehicular Manslaughter
  • Medical Conditions, Health Reasons and Dementia
  • Insurance Violations

If PennDOT decides to suspend or revoke your driver’s license, you will receive a written notice in the mail. PennDOT requires that you return your physical driver’s license to the Bureau of Driver Licensing by the date listed on the notice.

If you are unsure as to whether or not your license has been suspended, you may contact PennDOT at 1-800-932-4600 or use their online driver services website.

License Suspension Due to Traffic Citations

It is not difficult to rack up points on your driving record in Pennsylvania. One too many speeding tickets across a bridge that recently had the speed limit lowered can be all it takes. At Justin Ketchel Law, we will fight to have those points taken off your record, as well as your insurance coverage lowered and your license reinstated. Even if you have not had your license suspended, but are worried that you may, or are worried about the amount of points you have accumulated, we can help you reduce the points on your license. Whether this is your first DUI offense, second or subsequent offense or if you have received a drugs DUI or a DUI for prescription medication, remember that an arrest is NOT a conviction.
